We, APS BD BARI performed an ISA project  in the month of August 2018 with 150 students of class X and XII under the topic – FATAL DISEASES -HATE THE DISEASE NOT THE DISEASED ( IN-HOUSE). ISA ACTIVITIES – JULY 2018

Save Wildlife (Shoot us with Cameras, not with Guns)

The ISA is a platform that helps to nurture global citizenship in young people and enriches teaching and learning.

1. Under the ISA activity a video enlisting the endangered species of India, China, Sri lanka and South Africa was shown to the students of 5th and 6th standard. The video mainly focused on the endangered species- their habitat, physiology and reasons for being endangered.

The main motive of the activity is to spread awareness among the students and let them know about the importance of these species.

After showing the video, a healthy discussion among the students and teacher was conducted in which students cleared their doubts about the said topic.

In today’s scenario, globalization has taken the front place . ISA has provided a positive approach to students to know about the fellow members of other countries.

2. A power point presentation , enlisting the endangered species of India, China, Sri lanka and South Africa was shown to the students of 5th and 6th standard. The main aim of this activity was to acquaint the students  about the  endangered animals of the said countries . They also discussed with their teacher about the basic reasons of their being endangered. During the presentation the students asked their queries about the  ways of preserving these animals for future time. Students were also given information about the endangered animals of the mentioned countries. The students gave a positive response for this activity and very inquisitively participated in the discussion . They were curious to know the endangered animals of other countries .

3. The students were asked to prepare a scrap book of  the endangered species of India, China, Sri lanka and South Africa was shown to the students of 5th and 6th standard. The main aim of this activity was to aware the students about the endangered animals  and the different reasons for illegal wild life trade of animals.

Through this activity they came to know that wild life trade threatens the ecosystem and puts all species under additional pressure at a time when they are facing threats such as over fishing , pollution , deforestation and other forms of habitat destruction .

Students came to know that conserving wildlife can be preventive step to stay safe prior to any unforeseeable  environmental issue.

World has many untold tales of wildlife depletion, species endangerment, brink of extinction, and more. It is heart-wrenching to see how nature is being stripped away without a cause or concern to life and tomorrow. We can never be more ashamed of our existence as we witness the modus operandi of this trade that mercilessly traps, cuts, chops, burns, smashes, poaches, extracts, slaughters, marauds these helpless children of the wild – for money.

4. The students of 5th and 6th standard prepared an enactment on the topic “ SAVE ANIMALS” in which they demonstrated the ways these animals are being killed and the need to save animals as they are an important entity of our environment.

Students dressed in different dresses of birds and animals presented their play showing their idea of how animals are being assaulted and used in circus etc. They awared other students in the morning assembly about the importance of these animals globally .

The  reason why we must plan for wildlife conservation is that different wild animals and plant species often work as indicators of various environmental problems and catastrophes. Also, conserving wildlife brings us some educational benefits, psychological improvements, and positive economic factors. Although many governments and non-government agencies have been on the lookout for viable conservation techniques, more balanced approaches and long-term initiatives are to be made for the ultimate success in wildlife conservation.
